River Difficulties & GradesThe best part about having a rafting
experience in Rishikesh is that even non-swimmers, starters and kids can
equally enjoy the fun. River Ganga offers you exciting rapids to raft
along from Kaudiyala till Rishikesh. The rapids along the river have
been categorized according to the international grading system. As per
your individual preferences, you can select a grade and then enjoy the
white water rafting experience along the thunderous rapids. BASIC (GRADE I & II) If you are a starter or a non-swimmer, it is advisable for you to choose from Grade I and Grade II. These rapids are available at Brahmpuri. The rafting distance is around 9 km while the time taken is around 2 hours.
STANDARD (GRADE III) Non-swimmers who are a little more adventurous can also go for the Grade III option. These rapids are located at Shivpuri. If you choose the standard grade, you get to enjoy rafting for 3 hours over a distance of 16 km. MODERATE (GRADE IV) The moderate rafting stretch is popular as Marine Drive. The total distance for rafting is 25 km. You get to enjoy rafting for around 4 hours. To go for moderate rafting stretch, you need to know swimming and have some prior experience in white water rafting. Grade IV rapids can also be enjoyed if you start from Kaudiyala, the stretch expanding over a distance of 36 km. If you start on a rafting expedition from Kaudiyala, you get to soak up the adventure of rafting for a whole-hearted 6 hours.
Note: If you have the guts to
challenge the thunderous Ganges, you can also request us to arrange for
you a rafting expedition, where you would be having a lot more fun
including camping on long sandy beaches, enjoying bonfire evenings,
cliff jumping, body surfing and a host of other activities. |
